Girl Trouble

offline notes
20:40 october 24, 2007
while waiting for the water to heat up for a nice evening bath
now playing: tracks from eraserheads: live and acoustic

i am full of angst and this will make no sense

i just finished reading the alan navarra book, girl trouble, which i just bought earlier at fully booked. i saw the book yesterday and took a quick peek of what could the 'explicit content' be, as the parental guidance says. haha. (the book has this explicit content warning just like those in cds which i found amazing because its the first time i saw warnings like that in a book). anyways (before this entry turn to a book review), the synopsis really doesn't tell anything about the book, i think what made me bought the book (from the kickback of my tuition fee) was the explicit content sign. the book was good. period.

what happened today:
i was so hyped when i woke up today at the thought of last night: went to a san juan to watch Nami repair a common friend's pc while watching youtube clips in between. i arrived home at around 12.30 am. nervous at the thought of my mother locking me out of the house. but oh well, i wasn't locked out of the house, thank god.

back to waking up. i woke up today past 6 am, preparing myself to finish the process of enrollment. me and friends had this agreement that whoever arrives late (usapan eh 8 am asa skul na dapat), will treat the barkada something like food, duh. nweis, i was 30 minutes late so as agreed, i bought rc for the gang came lunch.

waiting at school. the enrolling advisers came soooo late. they arrived at school like 10 am and started processing R0s around 1030. errr. so to end the story (hindi kasi yun ang dahilan ng angst ko ngayon), may regi na ako at enrolled na ko.

eop please. crap.

the reason for the angst.
i was so cheery that something might actually make me happy today. something. something that i always liked. i always liked this feeling of forgetting the world outside and having this feeling that nothing else matters. this feeling that the long lost poets invented, for the theatricality of this thing called love... which they ingeniusly inject in their literature. literature that make you believe that eternal bliss or euphoria actually exist, that it can happen to the most common people--if you just believe.

press play. chasing cars ng snow patrol sa background para sa mas madrama na effect.
.
.
.
would you lie with me and just forget the world?

anyways. the hype, of course, as this always happen to me, everytime... everytime i expect of something... died down. fck whoever invented the word expectation and disappointment. i hate you dictionary, for defining those sad sad words. those words. which i dare not repeat as i type. which i dare not read again as i type... how they come together, how they complement each other in my own little world.

then back to girl trouble. the book.
the book is full of angst. thank you girl trouble for inspiring this senseless blog entry. i would come by the seawall sometime and say my wish too, and maybe, my bottle will break, and my wish will come true. and i'll believe that miracles do happen...

that someday the word expectation will come with the word fulfillment, leaving disappointment behind. drowning itself in the sea of angst.

tamang kanta pa. sino sa atin. eraserheads.

postscripts.
offline note itech. kumukulo na ang tubig. sana maramdaman mo din ang angst ko. harhar. joke lang. :) sige lang, inom pa. harhar. salamat sa pagdamay sa sapot ko.

nakakainis pa. it took me like 5 hours to finish the book! 5 hours. sobrang bilis. tapos natulog pa ako dun sa 5 hours na yun. sobrang bilis. time flies fast when you're having fun. balik na naman ako sa pagtatapos ng a map of the world.

kakatapos ko lang maligo. hassle pag sobrang mainit ang tubig. wala tuloy akong narealize habang naliligo.

feeling ko sabog eraserheads nung nirecord ang album na to. L&A

The Magic Stays With You

18 October 2008-The Enchanted Kingdom Trip

8 am. Met with Dean at Cubao to go to the official rendezvous, MRT Ayala Station. On the way there, we mistakenly (due to Dean's fault) alighted at the Buendia Station. Good thing we have not checked out our tickets, we rode the next train to Ayala Station.

9 am. Met with Patty, Lourdes, Moj (not Monj!) and kuya Brye to head the the EK shuttle pick-up point at Goldcrest Glorietta.

1030 am. The shuttle arrived. Off we go to Enchanted Kingdom. On the way to EK, we were so overwhelmed seeing each other again after a very long time, we caused so much noise in the shuttle. The clouds are amazing, and we passed by a Coke factory where there are gargantuan imitations of Coca-cola products in can. Show them the pictures, patty!

1105 am. Arrived at EK. Fell in line to claim our reserved tickets.

1130 am. Entered EK. Dani caused a slight delay because of her packed lunch. T_T Left her bag (and dean's and kuya brye's bags) at a locker.

around 12 nn. Started the EK experience. whoah. took lots and lots of pictures. We first rode the Roller Skaters. We thought this ride was a no-brainer, but after riding it, we didn't dare ride again. Swan thingie. Wrong move na sumakay dito when the sun is at its peak. Sobrang init at nakakadrain ng energy. After the swan, I think we rode Anchors Away (I am not really sure of the order). If you are brave, seat at the back, bur for us, we settled at the middle where its safe. we ate lunch at a place I forgot the name (patty, remind me!). Then, we went to Brooklyn. It gives you a know-how of what its like during the Pop era (lots of pop arts there). There was a dance performance by the Brooklyn Beats. The girl wearing green is an energetic performer. Other rides experienced were: Rialto. Rialto is very disappointing. Period. Thumbs down. 4D Discovery Theater. Amazing. The 3D binocular, bees, bats, the funny pirate story, plus the water splatted are all worth the 40php additional charge. Flying Fiesta. You can believe that you can fly. I thought this ride was frightening because it resembles like a large swing, and you are like suspended in midair, but it is fun and comfortable. Hot Air Balloon (I am not sure if this is what they call it). Like Flying Fiesta only it makes you feel wuzzy. Dodgegem. Bumpcars. Bitin. Jungle Logs. Sobrang ingay namin sa ride na to. haha. "Oh my god, manong, we were just kidding!!!". Space Shuttle. The one minute and fify second ride is amazing. At first I thought I'd never get to ride the park's main attraction because it was posted that it was closed for they day, but the ride later opened in the afternoon (talk about taking the meaning literally!), so me and kuya brye didn't hesitate to let this experience pass, we conquered our fears and rode the Space Shuttle! My hands went almost numb after the ride (good thing it came back to normal) but it was all worth it. Rio Grande Rapids. You are expected to get soaked in this ride, but thanks to stratetegic seating arrangement me and Dean only got a li'l wet. =)

8 pm. Rides were temporarily suspended to give way to the fireworks display. I'll post the video soon. (faulty dsl connection)

830 pm. We were not able to ride the Ferris Wheel and the Grand Carousel (both of which looks amazing during night). Spotted Eldar wandering and followed him for a rare photo opportunity. Took last-minute pictures, took our bags from the locker, checked out souveneirs... and after realizing how tired we are, we bid our goodbyes to the park and waited for our shuttle at the pick-up point.

around 9 pm. Goodbye EK. Restless even at the shuttle on the way home, we never stopped talking, but we were quiet on the shuttle this time.

around 10 pm. Arrived at the drop-off point. Back at Goldcrest Glorietta. Thanks Patty, Lourdes, Dean, and Kuya Brye for the EK experience. xoxo.

sa uulitin!

to those who will ask for the total damage, 675php. Inclusive of the shuttle ride (from Glorietta) and day pass. Visit the Enchanted Kingdom website for more details. =)

ps. google nyo yung link. nitatamad ako magcrosslink eh. :D

Spending the first week of the semestral break.

Last Wednesday, I went to school to get my classcards, two grades are disappointing, others are satisfactory. Anyways, at school I saw my old BOA classmates; like you yhang, ryan, joma and mich. Seeing old classmates is overwhelming. I suddenly missed our laugh-out-loud moments with our stenography teacher!

Yesterday naman, I went to school again, to enroll, unfortunately the only thing we were able to accomplish was the R0 because we need the dean for some advice, but she is too busy in Laoag for her vacation! Of course, we took the opportunity to take some pictures (we did some jump shots at the oval, but we didn't have the perfect shot, plus, nakakapagod tumalon!) So me and my friends ended up at the nearest mall and karaoke-d the night away. Hopefully, we'd get to enroll this monday, so we don't have to worry about school the next week!

If I am not at school, I grab every opportunity to watch every documentary at Nat Geo and Discovery. If I don't like what's on these channels, I switch to AXN hopefully to catch reruns of Chuck, House, or CSI series. However, if what's on is those insane videos at Video Zonkers, I switch to Star World, to see if Jimmy Kimmel is really funny, or to catch Ugly Betty, or perhaps that newest game show, The Moment of Truth. hehe. Local tv is the last option. :D There are times when there is nothing good on tv, and I'd remember the times when Jack TV and ETC are still on my channel list, and then I'd remember hating Sky Cable for their profiteering schemes.

I love the world, I just hate the people living in it. Well, except of course for the chosen few. =)

So thinking, I want these channels on my cable (I remember the episode where House demands for cable):

  • Animax
  • Jack TV
  • ETC
  • 2nd Avenue (tama ba, channel yun diba?)
  • Channel V

I don't want these channels:

  • Balls
  • Maxxx
  • Velvet

Does Santa have a blog?

Coloring Book

Pull the trigger and the nightmare stops.

expectation. noun. a confident belief or strong hope that a particular event will happen.

disappointment. noun. a feeling of sadness or frustration because something was not as good, attractive, or satisfactory as expected, or because something hoped for did not happen

They always come together. One expects, one gets disappointed. Maybe that's one reason why I don't daydream. Fairy tales and happy endings in my daydreams never happen to me in real life. Something bad is always bound to happen. Something good is always taken away from me.

Oh well, I still believe in someday. My euphoric someday.

*i'm gonna let it shine
i'm gonna let it shine
heaven's little light gonna shine on me
it's gonna shine on me

Happy Rainy Day

Dear Nami,

Take me back to the stationery times. It would be fun.

ps. you'll find out soon why it is 'Happy Rainy Day'

Moving.

Moving computers are easier than moving television sets.

Oh well, I must as well give up my dreams of having my own tv set, for now. =)

Yesterday. October 10, 2008

Went to school to get my classcard in Guidance. Met some few classmates, chatted a little, then bid goodbye then headed to Healthway (The Block) to process my Medical Exam. Met Josh (new work mate) at Healthway and both of us went to NCO to pass our medical slips.

>> Flashback at Healthway, The Block
I was so scared of the syringe during blood extraction and the guys at the X-ray lab are really not that accommodating. The Block is soooooo biiiig. but The Shang is still my favorite mall. =)

I was supposed to go home when Nami told me to meet him so I waited for him at Cubao. While waiting for him, I loitered around Farmers, Ali Mall, then settled at the NBS Big Branch. Went to check out the latest Philippine nonfiction books and I saw this Inday book. It is like a collection of Inday's famous sms's and blog entries put together in a book. I got bored checking out books so I decided to look at greeting cards instead. I realized that its fun checking out greeting cards. Some cards are fun (I love greeting cards by Hoops&Yoyo, they come with free stickers!), some are sad. Some have great pictures (those Snapshots greeting cards). Some are cheesy, some makes you blush.

We're gonna party like its your sembreak!

A few moments later, just in time before my battery went dead, I received a text from Nami telling me to meet him at Bread Talk. At Gateway, there was this guy playing Canon in piano! I was listening intently to the great piano piece, when Nami arrived.

The monkey was craving for pizza, so we went back (technically, only I went back) to The Block because he wanted to try something new for a pizza.

Nami resisted getting beer. lol.

Went home after. Great day! =)

ps. Just when I thought they are extinct, stationeries still exist.

You messed up yesterday.

You messed up yesterday.
You said the wrong words,
took the wrong turn,
loved the wrong turn,
reacted the wrong way.

You spoke when you should've listened,
walked when you should've waited,
judged when you should've trusted,
indulged when you should've resisted.

You messed up yesterday.
But you'll mess up more
if you let yesterday's mistakes
sabotage today's attitude.

Today's a new day.
Live it well.

Movies again!

Watching 5 Korean Movies yesterday made me realize how cheeessyyy korean movies can be. I can't believe I actually wasted my precious afternoon on those senseless romantic comedies which talks of nothing but losing your virginity, fighting over a cute student teacher and forcing yourself to someone who obviously doesn't like you.

I must stop talking about Korean movies now because I might say something offensive to Korean girls hehe. *peace*

To redeem myself and to redeem the Korean pop culture, I still believe that Korea produces the best romantic comedy movies. Of course you heard My Sassy Girl and Windstruck. Other than these movies, I like Jenny & Juno and My Tutor Friend.

I am crossing Wall-E off my 'To-Watch List'.

Pixar nailed it again as they were brilliantly able to make a love story out of two robots, Wall-E and Eve. Wall-E is a robot programmed to collect your wastes and make a cube of garbage out of them. However, what made Wall-E distinctive from his class is that he has a personality. He can segregate garbage from the useful and the trash, he likes to dance, he has a cockroach for a friend, and he dreams of holding someone's hand, someday.

Then came Eve, a robot programmed to search for a sustainable life on Earth. You see, in the movie, mankind was no longer able to manage their waste and Earth became something like a huge dumpsite, leaving its people to live temporarily in space while robots like Wall-E clean the Earth up.

To make the story short and to avoid spoilers (tinamad ako haha), Wall-E and Eve got to hold hands, and mankind was able to return to Earth.

Eeevaaa. Waalll-Eeee. The movie was short of dialogue, but it is amazing that Pixar was able to present the emotions just the way they should be, on the animated movie. Yey to Pixar!

I hope Earth doesn't become a huge dumpsite just like in the movie. Tsk. Lets love the world.

>insert An Inconvenient Truth documentary here<

Are you legend? I am Legend's tagline 'The last man on earth is not alone' is kinda lame, and so is the movie (I'm sorry Igiboy). In the movie, mankind was struck by a virus. The virus was once known to be the cure of cancer but it has adverse side effects that made the cure became a virus.

Robert Neville, which is played by Will Smith, is a renowned scientist and he is immune to the virus. He is like the last resort of mankind because he is intelligent and he is immune and he is driven to cure the virus.

It took him three years to cure the virus. Yaddah yadahh. Neville ended up sacrificing himself for humanity yaddah yaddah.

Will Smith should play more roles like Neville's and Gardner's (Pursuit of Happyness). The type of roles where a person goes almost pshycologically incapacitated because of his hardships in life. Will Smith is a good actor. hehe.

Its so sad Neville's dog, Samantha, got killed by the zombies in the movie. Oh well. That scene almost made me cry. hehe. I want to emphasize the 'almost'.

I realized that Warner Brothers produce bad sci-fi movies.

So there, I wonder what movie I'll watch next. =)

Batman Begins

"And one day, you catch yourself wishing the person you loved
had never existed, so you'd be spared your pain."

from Batman Begins
I love my collection of one-liners! =)

Movies and more?

Today is a rainy rainy holiday and what a better way to relax yourself is to watch DVDs.

My head is aching because I saw three movies consecutively.

Finding Nemo
I have seen this movie like ten times but the story never fails to make me almost cry. hehe. Almost. I really want to emphasize the almost.

"Just keep swimming. Keep swimming."

This movie also reminds me of Patty and Lourdes. Sassy Patty calls Lourdes, "Dory".

Hostel II
This time, girls are the victims. An amazing twist here however is that, one of the victims was able to buy her way out of the freaky killing spree trade. She is so rich she got to kill the Master of the Trade's (if Quentin/Eli calls the character that) daughter.

I'd still pick Hostel I if they are to be rated by their morbidness. or morbidity. Argggh. The dictionary says its morbidity. Crappy english.

Batman Begins
Another superhero movie! What is amazing in superhero movies is that you get to know a little of the superhero's history--the intriguing how's and why's. So watching Batman Begins, I learned that Bruce was once afraid of bats, and he is indeed filthy rich. He got his training from somewhat like an underground society they call the League of the Shadows, and his first archnemesis was Rah Al Gul.

Its so fun to watch because of the clever lines the characters throw at each other. You know, full of witty stuff.

Christian Bale is not really that good-looking. And I really hate the fact that Katie Holmes gets to play Batman's love interest. Pfft.

I am looking forward to seeing The Dark Knight.

ps. I am beginning to love Morgan Freeman. Must see Bucket List too, soon! =)
---
Movies I am planning to watch:

  • The Dark Knight
  • Bucket List
  • Wall-E
  • Hancock (another super hero movie)
  • You Don't Mess with the Zohan (I miss you, Adam Sandler)
---
I am planning to buy myself an original copy of One More Chance (yes, that Bea Alonzo movie). It premiered on Philippine TV last Sunday afternoon and amazingly (wooohh that word) made me cry (again). Arggh. Guilty pleasures.

I have talked too much about movies na pala.

Gtg, I going to watch I am Legend pa. haha. Hello Igiboy, I am hoping you could come watch with me. You watch Will while I watch you drool over him. haha! =)

Is It Sunny Where You Are?

Because of you, crappy dsl service I am not able to visit my favorite sites:

*happy rainy days my multiply friends. xoxo
